Our colleague found out last night that the collection of the Terezín Memorial (head of the collection: Iva Gaudesová) has stored the compositions of V. Jandásek (inventory numbers 11 407/2, 11 408, 11 409/2, 11 410/4, 11 411/2, 11 412/4, 11 413/3, 11 414/3.), which he composed in the prison "Brno-Pod kaštany" (one fellow prisoner saved them).

In Sokol, Ladislav Jandásek is mainly known for his literary activities. He was a member of the presidium of Česká obec sokolská, an editor of Sokol magazines, and he also concerned himself with the history of Sokol and life of Miroslav Tyrš. He made his living as a high-school teacher with interest in music and theatre. In the catalogue of the Czech National Library (Národní knihovna) there are listed musical scores of his authorship. Mainly, it's music composed for group excercises in Sokol units or at festivals, (less-important) pieces often drawing from folk music.
See the catalogue of the : National Library.
We appreciate her contribution to EchoSpore and thank her very much.
